Plot[]
A young man called Rufus arrives in the Mirrored Kingdom seeking to find employment as a barber. Much to his dismay, he finds that all the men in the Kingdom let their beard grow as a testament of their sympathy to their King Cuthbert, whose beard, because of an evil curse, is miles and miles long. After some misunderstanding, he finds himself tangled up in an adventure involving mice, a family of fairies, and Cuthbert's revengeful brother Jasper.
